When in Rome! Part 1

So that isn't the most original post title, but let's be real...How often can you actually use it?
I could go on and on about the amazing time we had in Italy, but I know pictures are all you really want to see.
Let's just say, there was wine, there was (gluten-free) pasta, and there was gelato.  Do you really need anything else?

{In the second part I'll show Florence, and part 3 will be all about our shindig with The Pope.  Or, "Popito" as my father called him, since he's kind of little :)}

Yes, that is a gluten-free pizza. With french fries.  There were tears.

If you look closely the Swiss Guard is definitely giving me a "Pontifical Stank Eye."

 It was sensory overload, living in the US you just don't see so much history and gorgeous architecture with every turn.
And the art we saw?
I don't know anything about art, but I know enough to be in complete awe!

We also went on an "Angels & Demons" tour and got to follow the path of Illumination from the book.  It was my mom's favorite, she had a habit of yelling "Someone died here!" at every location.
I like to think they're used to that by now. ;)

As you can see, we did as much as we could in one week, but there is still so much left to see.
We'll just have to wait until next time!

  2. These are some beautiful pictures! And I'm totally supportive of the slightly cheesy title. Because you're right - when else could that be a more appropriate use of that phrase?! It's perfect :)

  3. You had me sold with gluten-free pizza with french fries.
    And what I would give to walk those cobblestone roads.

    Looks like you had a great time.
