Working Girl

I started my job last Monday, and I can honestly say that I love it!
Don't get me wrong, I will always count the days until Friday, but I'm genuinely happy to go into work in the mornings!

Everyone in the office is so nice, I have never felt like the awkward new girl, or worried someone will think I'm dumb for asking a question.  There are a bunch of new girls starting this month, so everyone goes out of their way to make us feel welcome, and offer any help we need.

The job itself is actually kind of fun! Right now I'm being trained on insurance verifying, but they're talking about sending my to the verifying refills/ready to ship department.  I have no idea what that means, but the lady training me said that was her favorite job, and they send the "good people" there, so I'm taking it as a compliment!  It all has to do with verifying the insurance, which is what I really like doing.  It's not the most thrilling thing in the world, but it's fun to play detective and see what's wrong when a patient's insurance gets rejected.  Then, I try to fix it and when it actually goes through? I do my happy dance.

It's helping me make lots of friends.

I also love getting out of the house during the day! It was one thing when it was hot and Dom and I would explore, or go to the beach or pool, but since it's a little too cold for that now, I've started to feel like a blob.  Dom has MCAT studying and his scuba internship, so he always keeps busy.  I would just kind of hang out, and I was starting to feel pretty useless.  Thankfully, we had a lot of people to entertain, which kept me busy too!

I also found myself taking Dom being around 24/7 for granted.  When we were long distance 3 whole days together was a miracle, and I sucked every minute out of it.  Since we are together all the time now, I found myself not appreciating how lucky we are!
Now, I actually miss him while I'm at work, and can't wait to get home to see him.  When I get there we make dinner, talk about our days (since we actually have stories to tell now!) and really enjoy our evenings.  We might have fewer hours together now, but they are so much more special. :)

Now...what should I spend my first paycheck on? ;)

  4. That's wonderful that you love your job! Life is much easier when you're happy with your work. Just remain optimistic and I think it will be a breeze for you! Ps. I love your "about me" and how you "should have been born in the south!" Hehe. I'm from the south and smiled at the thought. XOXO your newest follower

I've been married 3.5 years and I still get giddy when my husband comes home...I would attribute it to my pregnancy hormones but it's been like this since we moved in together so I guess I'm just a sap! ;)
