I seriously love this day. In a relatoinship or not, I think it's great to have a day where you just celebrate love! Who cares if it's a Hallmark holiday? It's still a holiday!
Dom and I actually did Valentine's Day Part 1 on Tuesday night, when I took him for drinks (or one single drink since it was clearly the bartender's first night and bless her heart...it was a disaster) and then to see Top Gun in IMAX 3D! For someone with a plane phobia...it was scary.
But Dom had a blast! I'm not sure what we're doing tonight...but I can't wait! :)
See how I managed to make today all about me? Heh heh heh!
There is, however, one lovey dovey thing that I can't stand. And it seems to pop up a lot around this month.
Are you guilty?
Also, if you have anyone in your life getting all huffy and negative about Valentine's Day because "if someone really loves you they don't need a holiday to celebrate it" I'm calling B.S. on that one! Please show them this on my behalf.
Happy Love Day, friends!

I am totally with you. If you have to confess HOW great he is, he probably isn't all that wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up:):)
I COMPLETELY agree with you! I see this all time, especially with MARRIED couples! Why don't you leave them a personal message in the kitchen for their eyes only??? Is it necessary to write on their WALL!? YOU LIVE TOGETHER! Nobody wants to see that.. ick!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day, girl! :)
TOTALLY agree! And I love the eCard!!!
ReplyDeleteI was just talking to my sister about this. I totally agree.
ReplyDelete100% agree with you! I did a post a couple weeks ago about things that drive me nuts and this was #2 on the list. And you're right, those couples that write novels about how great their love is are normally the ones who break up on a regular basis too. So obnoxious!
ReplyDeleteI don't EXPECT anything for V-Day, but there is nothing wrong with people wanting to do a little something extra for their partners/spouses because of it. Some people are too uptight and mean about the holiday.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. It's ruining facebook.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you should know... your teeth are PERFECT! Strange, I know. Just an observation.
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Ohhh God bless E-cards.
ReplyDeleteI HATE when people post things like this on facebook, twitter too. Especially married couples. HE LIVES WITH YOU. Just shut the computer and tell him, he's sitting right there.
Happy Valentines Day.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree on the Facebook thing, it is too much!!! V-day isn't my thing, I enjoy it but some people go OTT with it and it puts me off. I love it that my boyfriend has made such an effort for me today, surprise flowers etc but I'm so glad he hasn't felt the need to go mushy on Facebook about it!! Happy Valentine's Day :) x
ReplyDeleteThose posts drive me INSANE!! I've found that the people who do that, are usually cheating on each other haha. At least the ones I've seen!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more!!My husband always makes fun of those people lol And also the joint Facebook accounts! What is with that? DUMB DUMB DUMB!
ReplyDeleteTHIS is why we are BFFs :) I hateeee this so much too! I legit have a friend that she and her hubby will write things like "You are doing such a good job with the baby right now" or "Thanks so much for being on dish duty right now" ....like, freaking WALK in that room and go tell them!!
ReplyDeleteSo ridiculous.
I might have also posted the same e-card on my blog today. I can poke fun at my single-self sometimes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am not negative because I don't think you need a holiday to celebrate it necessarily...I am straight up jealous. I'll admit it. I'm just trying to not be so bitter this year haha.
I agree with the social media overkill. It's too much and so not cute.
Happy Valentine's Day.
My husband and I have a couple of FB friends who gush over each other on each other's wall and every time we see an over the top, poetic declaration of love, we stop whatever we are doing, and make fun of them. And then we mock them, while dancing around our living room making barfing noises.
ReplyDeleteI seriously couldn't agree more! LOVE LOVE LOVE you and the video haha!

I just found your blog through Wifessionals. I completely agree with you. It eventually starts to seem fake to me.
