I can't believe it.
Today, The Sunshine Diary, formally known as Sunshine State Of Mind turns 1 year old!
It's so strange to think I started this blog a whole year ago.
The time has flown, and I'm so excited to see how much this hobby of mine has grown. (Oh heyyy, I rhymed.)
When I started this blog I had been reading blogs for a few months, and loved getting a glimpse into someone else's life. I was getting beauty tips, new recipes, reading stories of people to whom I could absolutely relate, and laughing a lot along the way. I wanted my own blog for a long time, but I had no idea how, and I had no idea what to write about. I was working full time, taking pre-reqs for my nutrition degree in the evenings, and babysitting on my nights off. Besides weekend shenanigans visiting Dom at the fraternity house, I really had no idea what I would write about!
Still, on March 14, 2012, I decided to take the plunge and make my blog. I figured I could spend a few months figuring out how this all worked, and then use it as a way to keep my family and friends in the loop when Dom and I moved to Florida.
What I didn't know was the fact that there weren't just blogs. There was a whole blogging community. Women connecting over things they had in common from all over the county, and the world! Women sharing stories, support, and the "I've been there!" reassurance that you can't always get from people you know in real life.
When I started my blog one year ago, I was so excited when Lauren from Wifestyles left me my very first comment. I jumped up and down when my follower count was in the double digits. When I got two comments on a post? Mind. Blown.
I had no idea how much I would love this hobby, and how many amazing women I would meet who would become true, real life friends. I am so thankful for each and every reader, you really make this journey so much fun! I seriously love getting to know you all, so if you have been a "silent reader" I would love for you to say hi! If you love following along with the random spastic-ness of my blog, I know we'll be friends. ;)
A LOT has changed on my blog in the past year, and reading my old essay-like posts makes me giggle. But after reading my first post, I'm happy to say I still live in a Sunshine State Of Mind! :)
Thank you so much for making this year wonderful! Here's to many more :)
