The World Lost A Little Color Yesterday

As you probably heard, Lilly Pulitzer Rosseau passed away yesterday at the age of 81.
It might seem weird to be so upset about the death of a fashion designer, but to me and to so many women, she was so much more than that.

Being a "Lilly Girl" is not just wearing her colorful shifts, it's a way of life.
She inspired, she lived, and she showed women of all ages how to lead colorful lives.

She also singlehandedly dressed me for every special event in my life...
My very first blog post was a Lilly quote, "Despite the forecast, live like it's Spring."

Her attitude on life was full of happiness and life, which shines through in every loud and electric print.
I dare you to walk into a Lilly store and not smile at the explosion of pink, color, and smiling faces.
If you're having a bad day, just try to look at some of her quotes about life, I guarantee you'll start to see the positive.

And finally, a Lilly quote I recently found that speaks straight to my life.

Rest in peace, Lilly, heaven just got a whole lot more colorful. <3

  1. I thought of you yesterday when I saw this on Twitter :( So sad! If only my pockets were a LITTLE deeper, I would be head to toe Lilly! Love her stuff!

  2. You and Lilly would have been besties for sure. I'll have you know that YOU are actually the one who introduced me to her amazingness!!!

  3. I thought about you because of your Instagram picture, when I seen that she had passed yesterday.
It didn't click to me until I read that she had passed.

  4. Lilly was so amazing. I've never managed to own anything by her (I tend to have a rather different clothing aesthetic), but I've always loved the beautiful things she designed, and her quotes are just wonderful.

  5. Well said my love, well said.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Your comments make my day! :)
