Highlights from Hunker!

Sorry I was MIA all last week!  I didn't do it on purpose, but to be honest, I literally have nothing going on in my life worth talking about.  Unless you like hearing about the Criminal Minds marathon I always watch and my daily trip to Walmart. ;)

However, over the past couple weeks there have been some highlights!
I mentioned right when I got here that I made a friend.  I got really lucky that it wasn't just an "Oh my gosh we have to hang out!" thing and then you never do.  We get together a few times a week (at least) and when she started law school she invited me out with all her new law school friends.  Without her I would seriously go crazy! I'm so thankful for our friendship.

Last week, the boys had a series of intense verbal, written, and practical anatomy exams that they were really stressing about.  So when it was over? We had our first little Hunker cookout! Tallie, her boyfriend, Dom's good friend Nick, and Kelly, one of Dom's friends from home who goes here all came over for food, beer, and Kan Jam.  It was so much fun to actually be surrounded by people, laughing and having a good time!

Then something shocking happened.  Two days later Tallie called and invited us out to a bar in Pittsburgh she and I had gone to the week before, and asked if Dom and Nick wanted to come.  I knew Dom wouldn't go in a million years, since he just celebrated on Tuesday...but he agreed!  Something about Nick needing a girlfriend convinced him. :)
The bar is a german bar, and it is craaazy!  They have a million beers, which they serve in gigantic mugs, and everyone is cheering and dancing on tables.  Then outside, they have another bar and outdoor tables with adorable lights everywhere, right on the water.  If I close my eyes it almost feels like Florida!  It was such a fun night... although I don't think Dom will take two nights off in one week again...
 {He didn't move for almost three hours!}
In between the main nights out, Tallie and I did lunch dates, shopping, and drove all around Pittsburgh in search of the perfect garage sales.  I also got a job!  Even though I ran over a nail and popped a tire on the way to my interview, I rescheduled the next day and it's all good!  Now I'm a hostess/server at Olive Garden so if you want some free breadsticks...I'm your girl. ;) It might not be my dream career but hey, gotta pay those bills!
