Just popping in to say a quick hello before getting back to the grind...I'm working 7 days straight from 3-11ish (last I checked I was PT?!)and have a million school projects right at once!
I really wanted to share this picture with you from work yesterday. We had a big celebration for Veterans all day, and all day they ate for free!
I wish I had remembered to snap a picture before we closed and some decorations were taken down. It was a red white and blue explosion...and it was awesome. I have never seen the restaurant so full, and everyone who came in was decked out in their military gear and couldn't wait to tell everyone about their story! We even had one sweet old Marine who was there from literally 11:00am until about 10:30pm and was asking every single person coming in if they were a Marine! Then he would stop them and chat about the good old days. It was too cute!
We met some really awesome people, including some WWII vets, which is really special since there aren't many around anymore. There was also one adorable little man who told me he was a veteran of the Revolutionary War...and promised to share his anti-aging secrets with me! ;)
Then, I woke up this morning to another surprise...SNOW!
Not going to lie...I'm already over it.
Growing up in NY I would always love the first snow, but then want it to be summer. I'd be lying if I said I didn't click my heels together 3 times and hope to wake up back in West Palm. I might be a New Yorker by birth, but there is not a drop of New Yorker blood in me!
Case in point- Dom and I trying to move our cars this morning..."Um, I think we should by those snow brush things..."
It's going to be a long winter.
OH that is awful. It is ENTIRELY too early for snow. I hope you can stay in and warm today
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your pretty snow picture but I sure am not ready for any snow.
ReplyDeleteNow that we are a little further south and close to the ocean I'm guessing we won't even see a little bit of snow this year. I'm not all that sad about it to tell you the truth!
EWW snow. I am NOT ready.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow Saturday night, but thankfully it went away just as quick as what it came!
ReplyDeleteNext time you click those heels, make sure you wish for no snow up my way too, okay?? K, thanks! :)
Yeah, I'm not thrilled about the snow either. But I AM excited to think about me pulling into that adorable neighborhood of yours SOOOOOON!
ReplyDeletelol is he using a towel?
ReplyDeleteI am not too mad about the snow but then again I don't have to go out in it
I'm over the cold as well. Give me 50s to 70s all year round and I'd be a happy girl :)
ReplyDeleteAww that's so cool you guys did all that!!
ReplyDeleteOhh yesssh I'm not ready for snow!! I hope it's not bad of a winter here!
The snow looks so pretty! But I agree, I much prefer warm weather with sunshine and a beach (which is why I live in FL)!
ReplyDeleteLove that picture of your village in the snow. Really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAs the veterans sound like they were absoloutely adorable...the snow...not so much. Is it so wrong that I want a snowy Christmas and warm sunshine the other 364 days a year?
ReplyDeleteHA it snowed here too; I didn't mind it until I had to brush off the car and get Nolan situated. And Veterans Day made my heart extra full yesterday too :)
ReplyDeleteAww, I love that about the Veterans. ♥
ReplyDeleteAnd my goodness, it was the first snow for a lot of you up north, that cold front really hit y'all. We obviously got the bottom end of it here in North GA. so it's just cold and windy here to the point where I'm like "okay,..if it's gonna be this cold there needs to be a little snow." (keywords: A LITTLE, lol)
I think they are actually calling for it sometime this week or next (probably won't happen though)
Think southern (or beachy/warm) thoughts!
I honestly don't know what I would do if it snowed here. I've been skiing once but that was about enough for me. I love your story about Veterans day. What a special thing y'all did for them and how wonderful for them to have a place they felt they could sit and share.
ReplyDeleteLittle old veterans are so cute sometimes. I work a VA hospital... and we were off on Veteran's Day, weird right? Lol
